Never, ever accept the position of co-CEO. No such position can exist in nature. Yes…nature, you are human after all.
Two people cannot be in charge at the same time. Either the board can’t decide which of you is best, or you are both so egocentric that you threaten to quit if you don’t have the title. In either case the company is being placed on an unstable foundation that will inevitably collapse. And by the way, both of you will report to somebody in the company senior to you. That person, likely to be the chairman of the board just won’t have the CEO title. So in the end what have you accomplished, other than making yourself feel better. Everyone else thinks you are pathetic.
