The CEO must be punctual. Your wrist watch/smartphone is not an ornament. Being late for an appointment, meeting, gathering–whatever–means you don’t care. If you are perpetually late you will come across as arrogant with an annoying self important attitude. That goes for anyone who is late to an appointment with you as well. Traffic is never a good excuse.
Be alert to the new world of recording capabilities on everyone’s smartphone. Try to stay aware of where you are. At a bar? Why are you giving someone the finger? Even if it’s a joke, it won’t appear that way on social media. Are you telling an off-color joke that one of your staff finds objectionable? You never want to go viral, ever!
Set your priorities daily. Be sure praising your team is number one on your list.
Never underestimate how far a smile can travel. And never forget how much further a frown can travel.
